A PEPPER LUNCH BIRTHDAY / MARCH 3,2008 =D

I finally convinced Hubby Sweet to eat some place other than Zaifu when we found ourselves in Rockwell for his birthday. He has been on a high-protein, low-carb diet lately in preparation for some wakeboarding thingy and I....well....I told him that is not altogether possible with his usual order at Zaifu. Haha! *Sheepish grin =D*

Having previously decided that I was going to have another go at Pepper Lunch--this time with the Hubby in tow--I, of course, sales-talked him into the high protein (read steak), low-carb (red side-veggies & salad) possibilities @ Pepper Lunch. Game! Yahoo! =D

I had previously eaten there with BFF Apes and ordered the popular Beef Pepper Rice. (Click on the link if you want to read the original blog.) Quite unfortunately for me, I was too overwhelmed by the experience at that time, I actually ended up eating my pepper rice without seasoning it. Haha! Truth be told, it was flavorful enough on its own. Still, I wanted to go back and try exactly how it was supposed to taste like with all the seasonings. =)

We got to Rockwell early enough (I suppose before the mealtime queue started) so we stepped right up to the counter almost as soon as we go
t there. =) Hubby Sweet struggled with the choices on the menu board (they all looked good to him), so I decided to just go with what Jeroen suggested in one of the comments posted on my original blog: Shimofuri Steak. While the shimofuri came with a bed of vegetable sidings, we also decided to order a Shake! Salad. Hubby Sweet decided he was going to go for the Chicken Sesame. Great choices both! =D

The Shimofuri Steak was not exactly cheap per se @ P600+, but given it's quality, I dare say it provides super great value for money! This isn't one of those "mini-steaks" lathered with cornstarch-heavy gravy. It's a good-sized slab; the meat itself (even with just the butter, without the seasonings) was flavorful. It tasted...for lack of a better word..fresh. =) Since I am no expert with Pepper Lunch meals, we also decided to ask for help from one of the crew. He was only too happy to help us, and thanks to him, we had a properly-seasoned Pepper Lunch meal! Haha. =D

For the record, while we originally went there because Hubby Sweet wanted a high-protein, low-carb meal, he also ended up wolfing down a good portion of my Beef Pepper Rice! Haha. This time, properly seasoned, of course. Haha. ;p He loved the pepper rice as well. =)

Hubby Sweet was soooooooo happy with his birthday di
nner that he has since decided to go back and bring Mama E (his mom) when she comes over this month for a seminar.

Hmmmnnnn....wonder what we should try next? =D

AH, SALVATION! =D

I've been trying to rid myself of this darn addiction to all things Marty (haha, see previous post), and finally, FINALLY (!) found the solution. Now before I get accused of shameless plugging, let me own up in advance and admit that this IS partially shameless plugging. Haha! Still, it's plugging that is close not just to my brand management heart, but also to my 30+ year old stomach. YEY! =D

Now, there's a FIT 'N RIGHT I can snack on! Haha. Brand copy, but true. New FIT 'N RIGHT Fruit Snacks may just save me. =) With fat-burning L-Carnitine. Low calorie. Zero fat. No sugar added. WOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!! 'D

We've been working on the fruit snacks fine-tunes for almost a year (well, actually....it's Alvin with the rest of the Business Team who's been working mostly on it for almost a year, haha--congratulations, guys!!! =D).

Not only does it now come with a spork (for added convenience) & lid (for better packaging integrity), it now comes in three new flavors: Pineapple, Mixed Fruit and Pine-Orange. I actually like the pine-orange variant best. =)

Now available in major supermarkets and 24-hour convenience stores. (In supermarkets, look for it in the canned fruit aisle or in the FNR mass displays. We're still working on having it placed in the areas with major consumer traffic. =D)

New FIT 'N RIGHT Fruit Snacks. Snack to burn. ;p
